I've been following the discussions surrounding the tragic events of 1997, including the murder of Sarah Jackson. One thing that keeps lingering in my mind is how vulnerable these young teens were while simply trying to earn a living. Opening up a restaurant like Captain D's early in the morning, they were just kids starting their day, probably with dreams and aspirations like any other teenager. What really strikes me is the role that community safety and workplace security play and how, back then, maybe things weren't as prioritized as they should have been. It’s truly devastating to think about the risk they unknowingly faced. My heart goes out to Sarah’s family and friends. No one should have to endure such tragedy. It makes me wonder how we can ensure today’s youth working in similar roles are better protected.

I was reading about the tragic case of Sarah Jackson and something that stood out to me was the strength of her family during such an unimaginable time. I've seen interviews where her parents spoke about Sarah’s bright smile and her dreams for the future. It's hard not to feel the immense loss they must still carry. They've been incredibly strong for so many years, keeping her memory alive and speaking out about the impact of such senseless violence. It's a reminder of the real people behind these stories, not just names in a headline. If only there was more that could be done to support families who have suffered similar tragedies. My thoughts are with the Jackson family today.
