I came across an old newspaper clipping today while organizing some boxes and was reminded of John Berry's story. I didn't know him personally, but reading about his life always leaves a mark. Everyone who talks about him mentions how kind-hearted and compassionate he was, despite the hardships he faced. He had this unique way of seeing the world, which he shared with those around him. What strikes me most is how he carried his Bible and often stopped to admire the stars. It’s a small detail, but one that paints such a vivid picture of his character. He seemed to find beauty and peace in things many of us overlook. The community coming together for a memorial speaks volumes about the impact he had. Even in the face of such tragedy, his story continues to remind us of the vulnerabilities of those without a home. It’s heartbreaking to think of how many more lives like John's are left unnoticed. Sending love to all who keep his memory alive.
