I’ve been thinking about Amanda and Melanie, especially given their ages. It’s incredibly sad that two young girls with their whole lives ahead of them were caught in such a terrifying situation. From what I understand, Amanda was just 13 and Melanie was 12—barely teenagers, yet they faced something no one should ever have to endure. I haven’t seen a lot of discussion about the positive memories people have of the girls, and I think it’s important to remember who they were beyond just the victims of this tragedy. Does anyone know more about their personalities or interests? From what I've gathered, they were close cousins and spent a lot of time together. If there are any family or friends who might share stories about them, it could be a way to honor their memory. I can only imagine how deeply their loss has affected their loved ones, and maybe sharing more about Amanda and Melanie as individuals could bring a bit of comfort to those who knew them.
