Hey everyone,
I've been reading through the details of the tragic case involving Edward Benford and those brave CBS technicians. What really caught my attention was the audacity and determination of Donald Nash. To think that he was able to carry out such heinous acts in broad daylight on a rooftop in Manhattan is just chilling. It makes me wonder about the security and surveillance measures (or lack thereof) that were in place back then on Pier 92. Were there any witnesses who could have potentially seen what was happening from the surrounding buildings? It's just infuriating to think about the lost potential for intervention.
Also, can we take a moment to appreciate the courage these men showed? Running toward danger to help someone they barely knew is a testament to their character, and Edward Benford’s actions are truly commendable. I can't imagine the pain his family must have felt losing him in such a senseless way. My heart goes out to them and everyone else impacted by this terrible event. It must have felt like a nightmare that didn’t end.
If anyone has more insights on the security aspect from that time or witness reports, I'd love to hear your thoughts.
