Hey everyone, I’ve been following the case of the 28-year-old man who went missing in the Key West area back in '83. The circumstances are very puzzling. I was curious about the tides and currents around Garrison Bight Channel at that time of year. Is there anyone here with local knowledge or a background in marine conditions? It might give us some insight into what could have happened when he was swimming that day. Any theories or similar experiences? Would love to hear thoughts from folks who know the waters in that area. Thanks in advance!

I've always found the Key West area fascinating with all its mysteries and history. This disappearance in Garrison Bight Channel has me really puzzled. It's known to be a busy area, and I keep thinking about how someone could go missing while swimming there without any eyewitnesses. Was no one else around that afternoon who might have seen something or remembered the weather conditions or the currents? It's such a popular spot, surely someone must have noticed something unusual. I wonder if there were any nearby boaters or even fishermen who might have seen him or might have details about the water conditions that day. It just feels like there are always people around, so it’s odd there aren't any more accounts. What does everyone else think could have happened?

Has anyone looked into whether there might have been any boat traffic in the Garrison Bight Channel around the time he went missing? I'm wondering if there's a possibility he could have been hit by a boat, especially since it’s a pretty busy area. Even if someone didn’t see anything, I wonder if there might be any old logs or records that could show which boats were in the area that day. It might be a long shot, but it seems like something worth considering if it hasn't been looked into already.
