I've been following Bernard Poelman's case for a while and recently found myself reflecting on his friendship with the boy who was there that day. I can't even begin to imagine the trauma of witnessing something so horrific at such a young age and the impact it must've had on his life. It must have been incredibly confusing and terrifying. This friend had to carry the weight of that day for years as the case went cold. I hope he found some peace knowing that Bernard’s killer was eventually caught, but the emotional scars from such an event must be heavy. Sending thoughts to Bernard’s family and friends—may they always find strength in their memories of him. ?
