I've been thinking a lot about Gloria Sue Nix Green's case and something that sticks out to me is how unsettling it must have been for her coworkers at O&L Well Service. Her disappearance was the first indication something was terribly wrong, and then to discover months later the horrific truth of her fate, I can't imagine what her family went through during that time—holding onto hope, only for it to end so cruelly. The whole situation really highlights the chilling environment of fear in West Texas back then, especially with serial killer Johnny Meadows lurking around. Even after all these years, it's just so haunting. My heart goes out to Gloria's family, her friends, and the entire community, who had to endure such an unsettling chapter. What a terrifying time it must have been for everyone.
