I've been following the cases in Rocky Mount and can't help but feel so deeply for the families still looking for answers. I was reading about Ernestine Battle and noticed a sad pattern. Many of the women, including Ernestine, seemed to live on the margins - struggling with addiction and trying to make ends meet. It’s such a reminder of how society can overlook people who are in vulnerable situations. What really gets me is that these women, despite their challenges, had unique and full lives. Ernestine had a flair for makeup and fashion. These little details make her more real to me, more than just another name in this tragic list. Knowing she had interests and passions outside the lifestyle circumstances forced upon her reminds us that every victim had a story worth telling. Why does it seem like their cases don't get the attention they deserve? It’s concerning there hasn't been solid leads or more arrests after all these years. Does anyone know if more resources have been allocated recently to look into these unsolved murders? Ernestine and the others deserve justice, and their families deserve closure.
