I can't shake the feeling of a deep sense of loss for Jamie's family and friends. Serving four tours in Iraq is no small feat, and it's incredibly upsetting to think that someone who survived so much overseas would have his life ended this way back home. I've been thinking a lot about how the pressures of assimilating back into civilian life can be tough for veterans. Jamie seemed like he managed well with his passion for woodworking and science fiction, probably offering him some peace. It’s just so tragic that a road rage incident of all things would claim another life. My heart goes out to his kids and wife—losing a father and husband like that is unimaginable. I hope they receive all the support they need to get through this difficult time.
I’ve been following the case of James Alder, and I just can't stop thinking about how senseless it all seems. As someone who also served overseas, I can appreciate the sacrifices James made for his family and country. It’s so difficult to come back and try to live a peaceful life, only for it to end tragically in such a preventable way. This road rage incident feels like it could’ve been avoided, and my heart goes out to his loved ones who have to navigate through this immense loss. Really hoping the investigation provides some answers, and justice is served for everyone affected by this. What a loss for the Mesquite community.
