Has anyone else been following the tragic case of Mario Amezcua Santoyo in Moses Lake? It's been weighing heavily on my mind, especially with the news that the shooting was gang-related but the victims, including young Mario, weren't involved. It just feels so senseless. The age of the suspects is just mind-blowing to me. A 14-year-old already wrapped up in something so violent, risking and taking lives - it’s terrifying. I can’t help but wonder what leads someone so young down that path. The arrest of this young suspect at a hospital makes me think about what might have been going through his mind. Did he regret it? Was he scared? It's hard to comprehend. My heart goes out to the families involved, especially Mario's. He was just a kid with a full life ahead of him. I hope this tragedy leads to some serious conversations in the community about gang influence and youth intervention.
