Hey everyone, I've been digging into John Allen Akkerman's case, and something that caught my attention is the location where the cab was found. A lot of people focus on the disappearance itself, but Fifth Avenue and Madison Street? Those streets aren't far from the busy areas of downtown Spokane — it seems like a strange spot to just leave a cab like that, especially with the windows down and no signs of a hasty departure. I wonder if there was something specific about that location that led the person Akkerman picked up to plan on abandoning the cab there? Maybe someone local or familiar with the area back then might have insights? That street corner must have held some significance. It's just so puzzling that after all these years, we're still grasping at straws trying to piece this mystery together.

Has anyone else dug into the weird detail about John Akkerman's cab being found with the windows down? I keep coming back to that. In Spokane, in the middle of the night, you'd think he'd keep them up unless he was in a rush or needed air for some reason. This makes me wonder if maybe he was trying to call for help or signal someone. It's strange to me, especially when paired with his knife being left behind. I know it might not mean much, but in cases like this, those little details can sometimes be crucial. Also, does anyone know how common it was for drivers to use those knives? Could it have been a sign that he trusted the fare enough not to have it on him, or was that just standard practice? Would love to hear everyone's thoughts.
