I've been following the case of James R. Thomas Jr., and it's devastating to think about everything his family is going through right now. What really strikes me is how this is part of a troubling trend we're seeing—so many young lives cut short like this, and it's weighing heavily on the whole community. The fact that there haven't been any arrests yet is unsettling. It’s hard to find closure when there's so much left unanswered. I can’t even imagine the pain his loved ones must be feeling, attending a memorial instead of seeing him off to college in a couple of years. I hope the Dayton Police Department can find the leads they need to bring some form of justice for James and his family. If anyone from the community knows something, I hope they come forward. In times like this, we have to lean on each other to find a path toward healing and justice.

I keep thinking about James's smile and how much he loved playing basketball. A friend mentioned James was so passionate about the game, and it was a way for him to escape and enjoy himself. It's devastating to think that his dreams and potential were cut short. It's important that we remember him for the joy he brought to his friends and community, not just the tragedy of how he was taken from us. Does anyone have thoughts on how communities can come together to support youth and prevent such incidents in the future? Much love to James's loved ones during this difficult time. Stay strong. ?
