Hey everyone! I’ve been following Cathy Ford’s case for some time, and one detail I can’t shake is the phone calls she received before her disappearance. The fact that someone was impersonating a magistrate and an undercover officer makes me wonder how well-organized the person behind this really was. It just seems so bizarre and sophisticated for a random act. Could it have been someone with intimate knowledge of Cathy’s life or daily routine, maybe even someone who knew her well enough to manipulate her into leaving the restaurant? Given how the caller was able to convince Cathy to leave under such specific pretenses tied to her family’s business, it feels more calculated than a crime of opportunity. The use of authority figures in the calls also suggests to me that Cathy trusted the person, which ultimately led to that terrible outcome. What do you all think? Could this have been the work of someone close to her, or is there another angle we might be missing? Would love to hear different perspectives or similar cases with similar patterns!

Has anyone here looked into the phone calls Cathy received on the day she disappeared? It just baffles me how someone could impersonate a magistrate and an undercover officer in such a short span of time, convincing her to leave the restaurant. It's 1988, so tracing calls must've been way more difficult, but did law enforcement ever figure out where those calls originated from? With the advances in technology now, re-investigating those leads could shed some light on who was really behind them. Anyone have more insight or know if this angle was ever explored further?

Hey all, I've been diving deep into the Cathy Ford case and something really doesn't sit right with me about the anonymous letter Paul Ferrell admitted to writing. Why would he write a letter claiming she ran away, especially after her car was found burned? It seems like a strange move for someone who wasn't trying to deflect suspicion. Was this a common tactic in such cases at the time? The timing and content of the letter just add another layer of confusion for me. Does anyone know if there was ever any further investigation into other potential suspects who might've had a motive or the means to set Cathy up? This case still raises so many questions even after all these years.
