I keep thinking about Cassidy's dog, Toby, and how much this whole thing must be hard on him, too. Pets have such a strong sense of their owner's emotions, and I can't even imagine how confused and lost he must feel without Cassidy around. From everything I've read, they had such a special bond. It's just another layer of tragedy in this case that affects those who can't voice their grief. I hope Toby is being cared for by someone who knew Cassidy well and can provide him the comfort he must be deeply missing. Losing a friend like Cassidy affects everyone she touched, in ways we can't always understand. Sending love to her family and everyone who loved her.

I’ve been going over this case and one thing that stands out to me is the question of motive. While it’s clear that Robert E. Smith Jr. had a troubling history, I can't help but wonder what led to Cassidy’s tragic murder. Was there any connection between them at all, or was she just in the wrong place at the wrong time? Cassidy seems to have been such a bright and loving person, with a whole life ahead of her. I can't imagine the pain her family is going through, trying to understand why this happened to someone so cherished. If there’s anyone on here who knew Cassidy from her days at Upperman High or her time working at the Holiday Inn, do you guys have any idea if she knew Smith or if their paths ever crossed before? It’s just so difficult to make sense of such senseless violence, especially when it touches someone with such a vibrant spirit. My heart goes out to Cassidy’s family and friends during this unimaginably difficult time.
