Has anyone else noticed how Michael Ress's car was never found? In so many of these organized crime cases, the vehicle is at least discovered somewhere, somehow—or at least parts of it are—but with Ress, it just vanished like he did. It makes me think there was a real effort to erase all traces of where he went or who he met that night. Does anyone with more knowledge about the Magaddino family know how they typically handled situations like this? It's just really odd that neither he nor his car has ever been recovered. Makes me wonder if there's some forgotten storage location or chop shop around Buffalo we aren’t considering. Any insights?
Did anyone else catch the detail about Michael Ress being on his way to meet "Fat Johnny" Sacco the night he vanished? Given Sacco’s cooperation with the FBI, could Ress have been backing himself into a corner without realizing it? With both of them allegedly having ties to the feds, it's possible Ress was either trying to make a deal or was being double-crossed. This has the feel of Ress possibly being caught in the crosshairs of a much bigger game. Also, does anyone else think it’s odd that despite all the ties to organized crime, the exact details of what happened to him that night have stayed under wraps for so long? You'd think someone would have talked by now. Thoughts?
I was reading through some old articles about Michael Ress, and I can't help but wonder about the significance of Fat Johnny Sacco meeting with him the night he vanished. Sacco cooperating with the FBI at that time seems like a massive red flag to me. Could Ress have gotten caught in the crosshairs of some kind of internal power struggle within the Magaddino family or between factions? And if Sacco was already talking to the feds, maybe there was a lot more going on behind the scenes than we realize. It’s eerie how these power dynamics might have shifted without the public ever really knowing. Does anyone here have more insight on how informants were handled back then? It feels like that aspect could be a critical piece of the puzzle in understanding what happened to Ress.
