I’ve been following the discussions about Alfred Charles Hale III, and I can’t stop thinking about how this will affect his classmates at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School. It’s unimaginable to lose a friend and peer in such a violent way. My heart goes out to each and every student who has to go back to school and face the empty hallways and classrooms without him. I hope the counseling services being offered genuinely help them process their grief and fears. It's hard enough being a senior in high school with all the pressures of graduation and what's next in life without something this devastating. Sending strength to all his friends and peers navigating this painful time.
