Hey folks, I've been following the discussion around the tragic death of Quadair Hoffler, and something that's been on my mind is the safety of the neighborhood where this occurred. Many of you might know that the area around Yates Street and South Lake Avenue, near Washington Park, is a mix of college students and local residents. It's unsettling to think that such a violent act could happen in a place where so many people live and visit daily. I've been wondering if there have been any efforts or talks about increasing community safety initiatives or local policing in Pine Hills or near Washington Park since this happened? I feel for Quadair's family and friends—they must be struggling with not just their loss, but also the fear of this happening to someone else. Does anyone have insights or updates on any community meetings or local efforts being made in response to this tragedy? Sending thoughts to everyone affected.
