I've been following the Michael Scott Dixon and Sandra Dixon case closely, and one aspect that deeply bothers me is the reported manipulation of Clifton Powers when he was at his most vulnerable. I can’t imagine the level of trust Clifton and his late wife must have placed in the Dixons, especially during such a challenging time in their lives with his cancer diagnosis and stroke recovery. It’s just so sad to think that someone would take advantage of a person's dire situation like this.
The fact that doctors had to step in and advise Clifton to seek legal counsel shows how dire things must have been. It's terrifying to think that if it weren't for their intervention, the Dixons might have continued to exploit him further or even others. My thoughts are with Clifton Powers' surviving loved ones. They not only lost him but have also had to see his legacy tarnished by these actions. It’s a reminder that we need to protect our elderly and disabled citizens more robustly, ensuring they have trustworthy people advocating for them. Hoping for justice and some sense of peace for everyone affected by this in the end.
