Has anyone else read about the case of Yeshaya "Shuki" Roth? I’ve been following the news and am really struck by a small but significant detail—the involvement of Rabbi Abe Friedman as the Chaplain for the Palisades Parkway Police. His role in helping coordinate the Jewish customs for Roth's funeral arrangements seems like such an important and compassionate aspect of navigating this tragedy. It’s reassuring to see that Roth’s cultural and religious needs were respected amidst such a difficult time. It makes me wonder about the emotional labor shouldered by community figures like Friedman, who often have to step in during these sorrowful situations. Sending strength and love to Roth’s family, friends, and everyone affected by his loss.
