I’ve been following the Jeremy Peterson case and can’t shake the impact it must have on his family, especially his son. It's absolutely unimaginable the amount of pain both families must be facing right now. Losing a loved one so suddenly is devastating, but I can't even begin to wrap my head around the reality of losing a family member while also facing the legal system yourself at such a young age. I read that the altercation allegedly started over electronic devices. It's chilling to think something that seems minor could escalate to such a grave outcome. What kind of pressures and stresses was this young boy under to make such a horrible choice? And how is his mother holding up in all of this? Her world just shattered in such a tragic way. I truly hope both families receive the support they need, though I know it's going to be incredibly difficult for everyone involved. Wondering if anyone here knows more about resources or programs for families going through trauma related to youth violence?
