I've been following the case of Cazarius, or "Bay Bay Living," since it happened, and it's been on my mind a lot lately. As a local community member, it's unimaginable to think this happened right here where we live. One thing that’s been sticking with me is the level of senselessness in targeting someone so young. It’s difficult to wrap my head around what could lead a group of individuals to direct such violence toward a child, especially someone who seemed just like any other kid trying to enjoy life. I'm relieved to hear that law enforcement has made arrests and that the suspects are in custody, but it doesn't ease the pain or bring back Cazarius to his family and friends. I'm hoping that justice will bring some kind of peace to those who are grieving. Attending the service at North Panola High School was a tough experience; seeing the overwhelming love and support was both heartwarming and gut-wrenching. Cazarius was cherished by many, and it's clear he made a big impact in his short time with us. His memory deserves to be honored as the community grapples with the loss and hopes for healing.
