Just stumbled upon Wayne Goldbaum's case, and something's bugging me. Has anyone dug into why it took over two years for his disappearance to be reported? I get that he was living a transient lifestyle, but that's still a massive gap. Anyone think that anonymous caller might be the key to untangling this? It's frustrating how a small lead like that can either open up new paths or just leave us with more questions. If he had distinctive scars and tattoos, surely someone around that area would have noticed him or his truck at some point, right? Feels like there's more to this that just hasn't been uncovered yet. Would love to hear your thoughts or any similar cases you've come across!
I came across the Wayne Goldbaum case while going through some older missing persons files, and something really struck me - his truck, the Ford 300 Series, never being found. It's like both he and the vehicle just vanished into thin air. Given how important vehicles can be in investigations, I find it baffling that no trace of it ever popped up. I wonder if anyone's dug into whether it could've been sold or scrapped without detection? Or maybe it ended up far outside Butte County, where it wasn’t connected to him? It's these little details that can sometimes break a case wide open. If anyone here has any ideas or similar cases, I'd love to hear your thoughts!
Does anyone else find the timing of the anonymous tip about Wayne Goldbaum really weird? I mean, it's more than two years later that someone finally calls in to say he's missing. Was this person sitting on that info the whole time, or did they just find out? If the latter, why did it take so long to come forward? The fact that his truck vanished along with him only adds to the mystery. When someone leads a transient lifestyle, I guess it's easy for their absence not to be immediately noticed. Still, that tip must hold some significance. Could the caller have known more than they let on? Or maybe they were scared to say more? I'm really intrigued about why after such a long delay someone suddenly decided to report it. Anyone have thoughts on this?
