Has anyone else been following the developments in the Joseph Douglas Goodwin case? I’m still trying to wrap my head around the impact this has had on our community. While much of the focus has been on the shooting itself and the arrest of James Ortley, I'm curious about how this has affected students and staff at Augsburg Fairview Academy. Joseph was such a bright kid with a lot of potential, and I can't imagine what his friends and teachers must be feeling right now. Has there been any talk about how the school is handling the grief and providing support to students? It's so important that they have resources during such a difficult time. I’ve also been thinking about how these cases highlight the broader need for addressing violence in our neighborhoods. We really need initiatives that focus on healing and prevention to stop this cycle from continuing. My heart goes out to everyone who knew him and the other victims—we can't let their lives be forgotten.
