Hey everyone, I’ve been following the case about Deron E. Baker and Kaven R. Gathing, and something's been really weighing on my mind. I can't shake how there's been so little information about the motive or possible suspects. It's almost like they just vanished from official updates. Given how the community in East Saint Louis might be feeling right now, this uncertainty must be really tough for everyone who knew them.
I keep thinking about how trusting the police can be hard when it feels like you're kept in the dark. Hopefully, the Illinois State Police share more soon because bringing the truth to light is the only way families can begin to heal. I’ve been thinking a lot about the location of where Deron and Kaven were found—it just adds an extra layer of sadness to an already tragic incident. The John DeShields Housing Projects, from what I've gathered and heard from others, is a place meant to offer some stability to its residents.
