Does anyone else find the timeline in this case confusing at best? It's been a struggle trying to piece together how events unfolded that morning on Arkansas Avenue. With Gaige's background, it's hard to imagine him in such a precarious situation. He was a trained paratrooper and marksman, not the type to be caught off-guard easily. Why were both Gaige and Michael Johnson at that particular residence? The lack of information is certainly frustrating for many who are trying to understand how such a dedicated individual could meet such a tragic end.
I can't help but feel for Gaige’s family and community, who are undoubtedly trying to make sense of this senseless act. Has anyone else noticed if there have been any updates or additional context shared by the authorities? It's important that we remain patient and keep supporting those close to Gaige through such a bewildering time.

My daughter just showed this forum. I didnt know this existed.

It has been 4 months, and we still have very little in the way of answers. I just received Gaiges death certificate and coroner report about 2 weeks ago.

It is ruled as a domestic murder suicide.

Gaige's gunshot wound to his back was only fatal because the police rendered him no aid when when they opened the door and saw him laying face down and struggling to move. He died from a hemothorax.

Michael was also alive and asking for help.

According to the police report, the responding officers head a gun being racked and that's why they didn't enter the house (i believe it was around 4:30 when they finally went in). They discovered that the "gun rack" they heard was Michael ejecting a live bullet from the chamber. According to the police reoort, Michael admitted to shooting Gaige and himself before he passed.

Take that confession out and it really looks like a dou be homicide. Gaige shot in the back, Michael shot in the chest. Unfortunately we are left with a lot more questions than answers.

For motive, Michael was having mental health issues. He had a breakdown on the Thursday prior, and was evaluated and released from the ER as well as a follow up with the VA. We do believe Michael was on steroids and they may have been a large contributor to this.

Gaige was an exceptional human being. He made a difference in so many lives. He is terribly missed.
Does anyone find it odd that there hasn't been much information about the relationship between Gaige and Michael Johnson? It's really puzzling to me. From what little the authorities have shared, it's hard to piece together any kind of motive or connection between the two. I'm curious if they knew each other outside of what happened that day. Friends and acquaintances must be struggling to make sense of this and yearning for answers. Gaige's service record speaks volumes about his character — it's difficult to imagine what might have led to such a tragedy. I sincerely hope for some clarity soon, not only for the sake of Gaige's family but also for anyone else affected by this heartbreaking event. Has anyone in the Oak Grove or Saint Clair communities heard anything about their possible link? It might help shed some light on an otherwise incredibly confusing situation.
