I'm deeply saddened by the news about Father Arul Raj Balaswamy. Having attended Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca a few times, I can attest to the warmth and kindness Father Balaswamy brought to every service. It's hard to imagine the church without his guiding presence. One thing that stands out to me is how mentoring seemed to be such a significant part of Father Balaswamy's life. Moving from Tamil Nadu to the U.S. must have been a daunting transition, yet he dedicated himself to helping other Indian priests find their footing here in Kansas. It's a testament to his selflessness and compassion, which makes his loss even more profound. I can't shake the thought of his last moments. To have his life taken so violently just steps from where he gave so much to his community is truly tragic. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and everyone at the parish as they navigate this incredibly difficult time. I hope that as the investigation unfolds, we'll gain more clarity on why such a senseless act was committed.?
