Hey everyone, I was reading about Chet Hanson's disappearance from Mount Rainier in '97 and something piqued my interest. While browsing through the threads, I noticed that nobody mentioned the weather conditions on that day. Does anyone know what the weather was like when Chet went missing? I tried looking up historical weather data, but it's been tricky to find specifics for that exact date and location.
Considering he was last seen around Shriner Peak, which I know can be pretty isolated, it makes me wonder if unexpected weather might've played a role in him getting off course. Heavy fog or sudden storms aren't uncommon up in those parts, and this could have contributed to the difficulty in finding him or any of his gear. Just curious if anyone’s come across this info or has any thoughts on how weather might have impacted the search efforts.
