I can't stop thinking about Deputy Will May and the sacrifice he made. It really hits hard knowing he was just on his way home after working overtime, yet he selflessly chose to respond to that call. This is the kind of heroism that often gets overlooked. From everything I've read, Deputy May seemed like a devoted family man who was deeply respected by those who knew him. It's unsettling how life can change in a split second. My heart goes out to his family, friends, and colleagues who are dealing with this immense loss. I can’t begin to imagine what his children are going through right now. Let's honor his legacy by supporting his family and acknowledging the risks our law enforcement officers take every day. Does anyone know if there's a fund or initiative set up for his family? I'd love to contribute in some way.
I can't stop thinking about the timing of this incident—why was Deputy May there on an overtime shift? It seems like fate had a cruel hand in the events of that day. It's maddening to think he was just on his way home, probably eager to wrap up his day, but then chose to respond to this disturbance call. It speaks volumes about his dedication and commitment to the community, but it’s just tragic that it ended like this. My heart goes out to his family, knowing he put his life on the line even when he could have easily deferred to someone else. It's a sobering reminder of the risks our officers face every day, regardless of whether they're on a scheduled shift or not. Deputy May’s legacy of service and bravery will surely resonate in Walton County for years to come.
