Hey all, I've been thinking about the restaurant community in our neighborhood ever since this tragedy happened. Jacquise Zanders' life was cut short in a place that's supposed to be filled with laughter and good food, and it's just gut-wrenching. I can't imagine what his family is going through, not to mention the staff and patrons who were there that day. The restaurant owner taking steps to improve security makes sense, but it's sad that we even have to consider things like safety glass and surveillance in what should be a safe haven. It makes you wonder how many more places we'll see change like this before our streets feel safe again. The sooner we can apprehend the suspect, the better off we’ll all feel. The MPD reward for information seems like a good step, but it makes you question why it takes something awful like this to really spur action. If anyone knows more or has heard anything different, keep sharing. Both Jacquise and those who loved him deserve justice, and we need to stand together as a community. Stay safe, everyone.
