I’ve been following the Derrick Martin case, and I can’t stop thinking about how the warning signs were right there. It’s terrifying to think that someone could live in fear in their own home, expressing it through text messages that sadly became their last words. It seems like Derrick tried to reach out for help, noting his roommate's behavior a mere moment before the tragedy unfolded. How devastating that things escalated so quickly despite him trying to alert someone. I hope this will serve as a reminder of the importance of listening and responding to warnings about potentially dangerous situations, so no one else has to face what Derrick did. My thoughts are with his family during this unimaginable time.
