Has anyone ever looked into the safety measures they put in place after Christopher Collyer went missing? I recently visited that area near the Colorado River in Rifle, and there's a steel gate and some signs up now. I'm curious if these were direct results from his case or if there were other incidents. I wonder how effective these measures have been in preventing similar events or if the fast-moving currents continue to be a danger there. Seems like there should be more emphasis on educating people about the dangers of swimming in these unpredictable waters. Has anyone else been there and noticed these changes? What do locals think about the impact of these safety measures?
