I recently came across Michele Baker's case from 1975 and can't stop thinking about how much of a tragedy it must be for her family to have lived with decades of uncertainty. The fact that Michele was so young—just 18 years old—and that her life was cut short in such a mysterious and unresolved way is deeply unsettling. While Richard Macek’s name has surfaced over the years in connection with her death, it seems like the wheels of justice never quite turned in her favor, given the lack of concrete evidence. It’s incredibly frustrating to think that Macek might have confessed to her murder, yet nothing ever came of it. My thoughts really go out to Michele’s loved ones, who deserve answers and closure after all these years. I hope modern investigative techniques might shed new light one day. Would love to hear if anyone else has any thoughts on potential avenues for reinvestigation in such cold cases.
