Has anyone else been struck by the significance of Clifford Peranteau's decision to have his paycheck sent to a P.O. box? This detail really stands out to me because it seems like such an unusual move for someone who was allegedly just going on a quick trip with a coworker. Considering how plans with friends or coworkers usually go, this action throws a wrench into the whole story and raises a lot of questions about what Clifford knew or sensed before he left. It's haunting to think about the possibilities and whether this decision was a subtle indicator that he might have felt something was not right. My heart goes out to his family and friends, who must have been consumed with worry and then grief—what a profound loss. I wonder if they ever fully understood the gravity of that simple, bureaucratic choice before the horrible truth came to light.
Has anyone else found it chilling how Clifford Peranteau's signature on the letter to his employer was considered odd or out of character? From everything I've gathered about him, Clifford didn't seem like the type to up and leave without a word. It's tragic enough that his disappearance and murder were connected to such sinister figures as Ng and Lake. Still, the idea that he might have known something was off and tried to alert someone (even subconsciously) makes the situation even more tragic. My thoughts are with his family and friends, who suffered such a devastating loss.
If anyone has more insight into why he would send such an unusual request for his paycheck, please share. Maybe understanding more could help honor his memory and provide some closure.
