I keep thinking about the bravery that young Shakeisha showed in her final moments. At just 10 years old, she was trying to shield her little sister from the monstrous reality unfolding around them. I think it's important to remember her not just as a victim of a horrendous crime but as a sister who fiercely tried to protect her family in those terrifying circumstances. My heart goes out to her mother, Pamela, who had to endure such a vile betrayal and loss. Nothing can bring back her loved ones, but remembering Shakeisha's courage is a small way to honor her short life. I hope her family has found some solace and strength in each other over the years.
Wow, it's hard to fathom the terror and chaos that descended upon the Lloyd family home on that tragic day. What stays with me is how Shakeisha showed such courage in the face of unimaginable fear.
