It's been years, but the pain of Richard Keith's murder seems like it happened yesterday for those who knew him. I just learned a bit more about his time in Hawaii before he returned to Camp Pendleton and it's clear he was a beacon of positivity wherever he went. His service in the Marines showed such promise, and I can only imagine the pride his family and friends felt. Reading about how Randy Kraft targeted these young men, many of them committed to serving our country, just makes it even harder to stomach. It's terrifying to think of the trust a young Marine like Richard might have placed in someone offering a seemingly harmless ride. Those who serve and protect deserve so much more than such a cruel end. My heart is with Richard's loved ones, as well as all Kraft's other victims' families. It’s important that communities continue to remember these young men, not just as victims, but as the vibrant people they were.
