One thing that keeps weighing on my mind is the systemic failures during the '80s and '90s in dealing with serial crimes in Los Angeles. With so many women victimized, it really makes you ponder how many cases like Yvonne’s could have been resolved sooner with the right resources and technology. It's a tough reminder of the era’s challenges in law enforcement. Although advancements in DNA technology eventually caught up with the perpetrators, it’s painful to think about the missed opportunities and the lives that might have been saved with better tools and inter-agency communication. Let's hope these lessons have led to improved practices today, so Yvonne and others did not suffer in vain. Her family and everyone else impacted by these tragedies deserve continued support and remembrance.
