I've been reading through some older cases and came across Walt Downs' disappearance from 2003. There's something really interesting about his abandoned vehicle being found so close to Niagara Falls. Given the location right near the Canadian border, it seems plausible that crossing over could have been part of Walt's plan. But here's my question: How often do cases like this involve successful crossings into Canada, especially considering the heightened security measures post-9/11? Has anyone heard if there were any confirmed sightings of him on the Canadian side, or is it just speculation at this point? Any insights would be appreciated!

Has anyone else been following the Walt Downs case from back in 2003? I've been digging through old forums and articles, and something that caught my attention is the vehicle they found abandoned. It was near Niagara Falls, but the location seems strategic, almost like a planned drop-off point. With the border so close, could this have been his way of slipping out unnoticed? Plus, considering his case was featured on *America's Most Wanted*, it's wild that there haven't been any concrete leads more than a decade later. I'd love to hear thoughts on how he managed to stay under the radar. Could he have had help, or was he just really good at dodging authorities?

Hey everyone,
I've been following the Walt Downs case for a while, and something that’s really been on my mind is his abandoned vehicle near Niagara Falls. It seems pretty strategic to leave it so close to such a well-known border crossing. I've seen some discussions pointing out that people can potentially get into Canada without a big paper trail, but does anyone know how often the border patrol checks for missing persons or wanted individuals?
Also, I'm curious about the timing. Walt disappeared in 2003, and things were a bit different back then regarding border security. Does anyone here have insights into how easy or difficult it was to cross the border undetected at the time? I feel like that aspect could hold some significant clues about his possible movements after his disappearance.
