Has anyone else been struck by the eerie way in which Anna Hauptreif mourned her stepchildren? It's unnerving to think about how she publicly grieved, yet was the one orchestrating these tragic events. I recently read reports of her dramatic displays of sorrow, which eerily mirrored the way she mourned her first husband's death. It's so difficult to fathom how someone can portray such sadness over the kids' deaths while being the one behind them. It really makes you question what was going on in her mind. Those poor children deserved so much better, and my heart goes out to any surviving family members who had to piece together this unfathomable betrayal. How does a community even begin to heal from something like this?
