Just came across this case and it's utterly chilling to think about the lengths George Hassell went to in order to cover up his crimes. What's particularly haunting is the fact that he managed to deceive people for three weeks by claiming Susie had left with the kids. It's disturbing how easily a manipulative person can distort the truth and keep others in the dark, even after committing such unimaginable acts. I can't even begin to fathom the grief and confusion the community must have felt during those weeks, not knowing what really transpired. It's a stark reminder of the importance of being vigilant and trusting our instincts when things seem off. I hope the families of Susie's side were able to find some semblance of peace over the years, despite such a devastating loss.
