Hey everyone, I've been researching the devastating case of Jodie Samuels and can't shake the thought of how the investigation was handled back in the '80s. It's so frustrating to see how many hurdles law enforcement faced, especially during such a tumultuous time in LA. But one thing that keeps bothering me is the lack of physical evidence in her case. We know that forensic technology wasn't as advanced back then as it is now. I can't help but wonder if the outcome would've been different had this happened in today's world with modern forensic techniques. Detectives might have had more tools at their disposal to find the evidence needed to pin down the perpetrators. For Jodie's family, having no justice, no closure, is unimaginable. What are everyone’s thoughts on how advancements in forensics could potentially solve cold cases like this one? Could there be any hope for justice using today's technology, or is it genuinely a matter lost to time? Sending thoughts and strength to Jodie’s loved ones. She deserved so much better. —LauraSleuth1982

I've been thinking a lot about how Jodie Samuels' case was impacted by the broader context of crime in LA during the early '80s. It's truly unsettling to imagine just how rampant violence was back then, and I can only begin to empathize with what Jodie's family must have gone through—and continues to go through. One aspect that often gets overlooked in discussions is the state of forensic technology at the time. It's frustrating to think that if the case had happened today, advancements in DNA analysis and other forensic methods might have provided the evidence needed to charge someone like Kevin Haley. The absence of a murder weapon and eyewitnesses are massive hurdles, but it shows just how pivotal forensics can be in making or breaking a case. Law enforcement had their hands full during that era, but it’s disheartening that a child’s murder could be unresolved for lack of modern forensic capabilities. I hope that someday, technological advancements might help bring some resolution for Jodie’s family, even if it's years later. This little girl’s life was snuffed out far too soon, and her family deserves answers. ❤️
