Hey everyone, I've been diving into the Wilbert Irving case, and something that's really been tugging at me is the community's response—or lack thereof. I get that the neighborhood where this happened isn't new to violence, but that's all the more reason for people to step up and help bring justice for Wilbert.
It's just so unsettling that in all this time, so few have come forward with information. It must be incredibly painful for Wilbert's loved ones not to have closure. I wonder if fear is keeping witnesses silent. St. Louis offers anonymous tip lines through CrimeStoppers, which seems like a good step forward. Maybe if more people knew how safe it is to provide info anonymously, they'd be more willing to speak out.
Does anyone else think there might be a way to raise awareness in these communities about these anonymous resources? I truly hope someone steps up soon, for the sake of Wilbert's family and for the safety of the whole community.
