Hey everyone, I've been delving into the Edward Skwira case and I just can't stop thinking about the role Kristen Gilbert's colleagues might have played, indirectly or otherwise. It's unnerving that so many deaths went unnoticed for so long at the VAMC. I feel for the medical staff who were just doing their jobs, maybe even following orders, without fully realizing what was happening around them. Imagine being a nurse or doctor on Ward C and later learning that deaths you couldn't explain at the time were actually part of a series of murders. I can't help but wonder about the impact this had on them mentally and emotionally. It must be haunting. My heart goes out to them, as well as to Mr. Skwira’s family and all the families affected. Sometimes, being part of the system – even unknowingly – leaves scars. Would love to hear what you all think about how these events might have been processed by the hospital staff.
