I'm really disturbed by the impact this case has had on Christine Whitis's family and friends. It’s so hard to wrap my head around the fact that someone who was a friend of the family and known for so long could do something this horrific. I keep thinking about how her sister-in-law expressed disbelief about why Christine was at Gibson’s house. It must be incredibly painful to grapple with the 'why' of it all when someone you love is taken so senselessly. It’s wrenching to imagine what Whitis’s family went through during the trial, especially having to see such graphic and brutal evidence of her last moments. Their strength and courage in standing through the proceedings really stands out to me. I hope they can find some measure of peace and healing in knowing that Gibson was held accountable for his actions, even though it will never bring Christine back. My thoughts are with her family and those who loved her during this incredibly difficult time. It's a stark reminder of how crucial it is to be aware of the people we interact with, even those who might already be part of our lives. Stay safe, everyone.
