I just read about Rose Beck Davis's case, and the sheer brutality of what happened to her is beyond comprehension. As someone who's been delving into unsolved and solved cases for a while, this is one that stands out for its sheer horror. The fact that her murder was linked to such a notorious group only adds to the tragedy. It makes me think about how unsafe that time must have been in Chicago, especially for women. I'm also astonished that some members of this group were released. It must be incredibly painful and frustrating for Rose's family and friends to know that one of the men involved in such a violent act eventually walked free. I can't imagine the strength it would take to cope with that kind of news. For those who knew Rose, I hope they have found some peace over the years. My thoughts are with anyone who was affected by this case, directly or indirectly. It's just so important to remember Rose and the other victims as more than just the way they died, but as the vibrant individuals they were.
