I’ve been following Gregg Ginsberg’s case for a while, and something that’s been puzzling me is the timing of his departure. Why on earth would anyone go out on a boat with a hurricane nearing? I get that some people are thrill-seekers or maybe confident in their boating skills, but it just seems so risky. Did Ginsberg often go out in rough conditions, or is this out of character for him? Also, I’m curious if his usual routes or habits were looked into—like, was going into the Gulf a regular thing for him, or was he trying something different because of the storm? Would love to hear others’ thoughts or any local insight into his behavior on the water.

Hey everyone, I’ve been following Gregg Ginsberg’s case for a while now and something I’ve always been curious about is what led him to go out on his boat with Hurricane Rita on the horizon. Was he an experienced sailor who might have underestimated the storm, or could there have been a more pressing reason for him to head out despite the weather warnings? Was he trying to protect his boat or something on it? Maybe he just didn't think the storm would be too bad? It seems odd given the timing and the fact that the Gulf can get pretty dangerous during storms like that. I wonder if any local folks from St. James City or around Sanibel Island knew him well enough to shed some light on his character or habits around boating. Perhaps that might give us a little more insight into his actions that day. It seems like understanding his mindset could potentially uncover some clues. Thoughts?
