I've been following Jennifer Louise Still's case for quite some time and something has always stuck out to me about the initial DNA analysis. I can only imagine how baffling and frustrating it must have been for her family, knowing there was a drop of the killer's blood but no immediate justice in sight. Everybody who loved Jennifer must have held onto hope that science would eventually catch up with her murderer. With today's advancements in DNA technology, it's hard to believe how many cold cases are getting solved years later. Imagine the heartache Jennifer's loved ones felt when the DNA evidence didn’t yield immediate results, only to have that same evidence finally connect the dots years later after more heartbreak occurred. I keep thinking about how critical it is to maintain and re-test DNA samples as methods improve over time. It brings a dose of relief knowing that persistence and advancements in forensic science finally brought some semblance of justice for Jennifer. Even though nothing can ever bring her back, I'm grateful that her story didn't remain unsolved forever. Thoughts?
