I've been thinking a lot about how Dorothy's bike was found on 21st Street near Border Avenue. It's haunting to imagine that such a familiar thing—an innocent bicycle ride in her neighborhood—turned into something so tragic. How did her bike end up being found so neatly, with no sign of a struggle? It pains me to think about her final moments and what she might have experienced. I've heard people say that the lack of a struggle might suggest she knew her abductor or was taken by surprise. Considering the similarities with Karen Lynn Tompkins' case, I feel there's more to uncover about that area. Did anyone frequent it, maybe someone who blended in with the community? My heart goes out to the families who have lived with these open wounds for decades, and I hope they find answers someday.
