I recently dove into the case of Candice Reed and something that really struck me is the community’s response when the truth finally came out. Imagine going about your daily life in a small town like Clay County, only to find out years later the horror that took place right under your nose. It's haunting to think about how the neighbors, friends, and even distant family were left with so many questions for so many years. I've read that community members had organized vigils after the bodies were found, trying to find some way to honor the lives tragically taken and to cope with the shocking revelations. It shows the ways people come together to support one another, even when faced with the darkest of circumstances. The loss of Candice and the others was a horrible tragedy, and it's comforting to know that they were mourned and remembered by those around them, even long after the fact.
