Did anyone else dig into the potential destinations listed for Anna and Maximillian Soloviev? I find it interesting that they singled out the Caribbean and Russia. Given the language barrier, hiding out in Russia seems plausible for them, especially since Maximillian mainly speaks Russian. But I'm curious about the Caribbean angle— there are numerous islands with diverse cultures and languages. Perhaps Anna thought that a less conspicuous place with many tourists might be easier to blend into? If anyone has insights or theories about how these specific destinations were decided upon, I’d love to hear your thoughts. I feel like understanding geographic possibilities might help reignite interest or open up new ideas about where they could have moved to.
Has anyone looked into any reported sightings in the Caribbean by locals or tourists around the time Max disappeared? I know it's been a while since 2006, but sometimes you hear about people disappearing into communities that aren't too scrutinized by tourists or locals. English isn't as common in some places down there, so being fluent in Russian, they might have blended in more easily in smaller or more isolated communities, maybe where Russian tourists or expats are common? Also, I'm thinking the varied spellings of their last names could throw off any search if either of them has been listed under them. I wonder if there’s been any attempt to reach out to Russian-speaking communities in those areas. Just a thought, but every lead matters, right?
