I’ve been following the tragic case of M. Geneva Long, and something has been bothering me about the fire. It's deeply unsettling to think about what that fire might mean beyond just covering up evidence. I read that setting a fire could be an attempt to erase someone’s presence entirely or to instill fear in the community, almost as if sending a message. It makes me wonder if the arson was meant to distract or intimidate, rather than just conceal a crime. Given that other elderly women in the area suffered similar fates around the same time, it’s hard not to draw connections. I can’t imagine what Geneva’s family has gone through with all these unanswered questions lingering for so long. It must be incredibly frustrating not to have full clarity on why this happened. Every piece of evidence must feel like a lifeline to understanding the truth. My heart goes out to them and to anyone else in that community who is still haunted by what happened. Is there any possibility that authorities will re-examine the fire’s role in all of this?
